Here is an inventory of the gear I currently use. You will NEVER see me wearing straight black. Black makes you too invisible, and in this day and age of texting while driving and other on road distractions (cell phone use, GPS etc...) I want to be seen. I read an interesting article that talked about why high visibility colors stand out so much...in short they irritate the optic sensors and the brain and actually cause us to take notice faster since the signals sent to the brain are so dissonant...pretty cool stuff. As I've always said, I don't give a damn about "image"...if I did I WOULD have bought a Harley..and would wear black...I hope to ride for many years, so I want to be seen as much as possible. I was pumped when I saw that Competition Accessories sold Orange Riding Gear...now if ONLY I could find an Orange Leather Flyers Jacket! Motorcycle Riders are a fickle bunch, much like musicians are. We constantly scan the internet for the latest and greatest. Even if we are not currently in the market, there is always something that makes us say "That's cool...I gotta have that!"...I guess I'm doubly cursed!!
Scorpion makes some awesome helmets, with bells and whistles that are incredibly functional, for example the drop down sun shield and inflatable cheek pads. I get a lot of comments about the leather...people want to question my sexuality...let them..the truth is that leather is very insulating and protective and very comfortable. Jafrum leather pants fit that bill. I've only recently purchased the Sony action cam. I'm hoping to use it quite a bit during the season to chronicle some trips. The Shadow and Sliders jackets are very ergonomic and an incredible deal as well. The Olympia pants are great for warmer days as they are mesh and allow a lot of airflow. The Tourmaster jacket is thicker and a great option for fall/early winter riding. And finally the Sena...what a kick ass piece of gear!! having bluetooth audio while riding creates a whole new dimension. Even the most die hard riders can get bored on long trips, but the Sena lets you play your favorite songs in your head while cruising...literally. The intercom works very well and makes bike to bike communication very simple, and also adds elements of safety to your ride...I love this thing!
